Sitting right on the marina at Peppers Blue on Blue, Boardwalk Restaurant & Bar pairs waterfront dining with one of Nelly Bay’s prettiest outlooks. Boats bobbing in the marina, palm trees, sea breezes and a big outdoor deck make it an easy spot to settle in for a few hours.
The menu brings together modern Australian dining and tropical North Queensland flavours, with fresh seafood, seasonal dishes and plenty of lighter options alongside a good wine list, cocktails and cold drinks. Come for breakfast overlooking the water, linger over lunch or time dinner with the changing light across the marina.
The outdoor deck is where we’d choose to sit, particularly once the day starts to cool and the sea breeze rolls through. There’s also the Boardwalk Bar & Atrium inside for a more relaxed drink, snack or escape from the North Queensland heat.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Boardwalk is an easy option when you want somewhere that still feels unmistakably Maggie, but with a slightly more polished edge.
WHAT WE LOVE
Marina Front Dining: Grab a table outside and watch the boats come and go from Nelly Bay Marina. It’s particularly lovely later in the day when the heat drops and the waterfront starts to light up.
Breakfast to Sunset Drinks: Start the day with breakfast by the water, come back for lunch or settle in with a cocktail as the afternoon winds down. It’s one of those spots that works at almost any time of day.
Seafood & Tropical Flavours: Modern Australian dishes, fresh seafood and North Queensland flavours feel right at home beside the marina.
Something a Little More Polished: Still relaxed enough for island life, but with a more refined resort feel that works nicely for date night, a celebration or a long lunch when you’re in no hurry.
