Magnetic Island Ferries
Magnetic Island Ferries is the sole vehicle barge for the island, enabling you to bring your vehicle, boat, ski, caravan, or Winnebago in one of their regular eight daily departures.
The barge journey typically lasts about 40 minutes, and there’s the option to be a walk-on passenger. Additional services are introduced during school holidays, providing departures every hour from Townsville and Magnetic Island. Reduced-rate off-peak services are available, and you can utilize their Camping Package to enjoy driving, camping and playing on the island.
The Townsville terminal has friendly staff to help with your travel questions and transfer. A secure paid car park is available at the terminal. To access the Townsville terminal, you can drive, take a taxi or Uber, or walk from Palmer Street.
If you’re using their handy online booking portal, please double-check which ferry you have booked. It may be Sealink North Queensland, located on the opposite side of the river.
