The Magnetic Museum and Magnetic Island History and Craft Centre in Picnic Bay offer visitors a glimpse into the island's rich history and heritage. Located in a charming heritage-listed building, the old Picnic Bay school, the Museum showcases diverse exhibits that tell the story of the island's past, from its Aboriginal heritage to its colonial history. Whether learning about the Wulgurukaba People's traditional culture or discovering the tales of early European settlers, the Magnetic Museum provides an immersive and educational experience for all.
The Museum is open Thursday through to Monday from 10 am to 2 pm.
