Maggie’s Best Coffee Spots (with kids!)

Maggie’s Best Coffee Spots (with kids!)

If you’re on the hunt for the best morning coffee spots and want to discover what each has to offer, you’ve come to the right place! We’re excited to share our favourite coffee locations in each of our main villages, perfect for couples, families, and kids - literally everyone!

Cafe Nourish

In Horseshoe Bay, Cafe Nourish offers an inviting, homely beachside vibe that’s hard to resist. Run by friendly locals Sabine and Derek, this cafe lives up to its name with a menu full of homemade, nourishing meals. If you're looking for more than coffee, you’ll find fresh juices alongside tempting treats like wholesome breakfasts, cakes, slices, and freshly baked cookies. It's the perfect spot for a healthy bite or a sweet indulgence – we’ll take an iced latte and a slice of their delicious orange cake to go!

Got kids? You’ll find Horseshoe Bay beachfront across the road, a playground, and water sports equipment. Rent a paddle boat and set off to find some turtles!

Arcadia Bakehouse

Just over the hill in Arcadia, you’ll discover the family-owned Arcadia Bakehouse, a must-visit for barista-made coffee and a delicious selection of freshly baked breads, savoury pies, sausage rolls, and tempting sweets. Be sure to stop by before taking the short stroll to Geoffrey Bay. At one end, you can visit Bremner Point, where you might encounter our friendly island Allied Rock Wallabies, while at the other end, Gabul Way offers a scenic, accessible lookout path with breathtaking views over Geoffrey Bay.

Got kids? You’re in for a treat! They can meet the wallabies, run free along the shore finding shells, or scoot along the pathway that leads to Gabul Way.

Tiny Palm Coffee

Next stop, Nelly Bay: Scotty and Jesse’s charming coffee van, Tiny Palm Coffee, is an absolute vibe. Nestled inside Jungle Club, it’s one of our favourite spots to kick off the day. Start with a delicious acai bowl and a top-notch barista coffee, then explore the surrounding spaces – a swimming pool, Juniper and Co, Cora Island Wear, Be Seen Beauty, various art studios, and even a coworking space.

Got kids? We could easily spend an hour by the pool, but if you're looking for a bit more adventure, the Nelly Bay foreshore and playground is just a 5- to 10-minute walk around the corner.

Lava Lava Magnetic Island

Last but definitely not least, Lava Lava Magnetic Island is worth making the trip to Picnic Bay for. Nestled in the Sea Salt Arcade, Lava Lava is more than just delicious coffee; the team serve up freshly baked treats, mouthwatering bagels, nourishing breakfasts, and nutritious superfood smoothies.

Got kids? Just along the Picnic Bay esplanade is the village's local playground, a fenced area with a grassy space great for kicking a ball. Otherwise, take a walk along the jetty and see who can spot the most marine animals.
